I think she expected her family to talk play games and have fun but she couldn't speak her language and she didn't like the food so she couldn't do that.
She was excited, and a little sad, cause she couldn't speak her language and her family almost forgot her. Things are different cause she cant speak her language.
I think Olemaun expected her family to hug her and never let her go again and even recognize her. She didn't think they wouldn't recognize her and say she's not her moms child . I think things happened differently because her hairs cut, she speaks English, and she taller and skinnier because the nuns made her not speak their language, cut their hair and didn't eat much and in bed early. So she's really changed , so her mother doesn't think Olemaun is herself and she isn't what she was 2 years ago.
I think Margaret expected it to be a happy meeting with her family but her mom didn't remember her. She thought that is wasn't her. The reason why Margaret's mom didn't remember her is because the mean nuns cut her hair, so her hair is short now. I think that's why her mom didn't remember her.
She was expecting her family to come up and hug .and ask her how it was . but her mother said not my girl not my girl. She was confused why her mother said that?
I think that she trying to make them remember them. And her mom doesn't remember her because. her looks and speaking English. and she is trying make her love them or her.
Margret wanted her mom and dad to run up and give her hugs and lots of their traditional things that she had before she left. but her parents did not recognize her when she got back so it did not go as planned . she wanted her mom and dad to remember her.

I think it didn't go as planned because the nuns changed her culture because she almost prayed for food she didn't like and her mom didn't know her because she got tanned. , new hair,taller and different

I think that happened because she went to residence school and she got skinny, tall , looked like an outsider, and talked like one.

She will take her chances so she won't go back to the residential school she would run into the forest and jump off a cliff into the water.
